Prerequisites
Before taking the role
- Should hold the rank of Star, Life, or Eagle.
- Should have completed a full six-month term as Patrol Leader.
- NYLT experience is recommended.
Duties
Core responsibilities
- Run troop meetings, events, openings, closings, and the annual program planning meeting.
- Chair the Patrol Leaders’ Council.
- Plan troop meeting agendas.
- Appoint junior leaders with the advice and consent of the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to junior leaders.
- Assist with junior leader training.
- Establish campout duty rosters and make sure duties are carried out.
- Set a good example in uniforming, Scout spirit, and outdoor participation.
