Prerequisites

Before taking the role

  • Should hold at least First Class rank.

Duties

Core responsibilities

  • Introduce new Scouts to troop operations.
  • Guide newer Scouts through early Scouting activities.
  • Help newer Scouts reach First Class within their first year.
  • Teach basic Scout skills.
  • Coach the Patrol Leader of the new Scout patrol.
  • Work with that Patrol Leader in Patrol Leaders’ Council meetings.
  • Set a good example in uniforming, Scout spirit, and outdoor participation.
